Libby and Andrew Engagement Session

When I first met Libby for our consult I immediately felt like we clicked. She had a deep and genuine appreciation for my style of photography, and it was evident in everything she said. Nothing makes me happier than finding clients that just ‘get’ it. I am so excited for their wedding this summer. I finally got to meet Andrew at our engagement session a few weeks ago and we had a blast dodging the rain and taking some really great photos. Here are a few of my favorites from our session. Libby and Andrew thank you again for a great session and I can’t wait for the big day in July.

Lee and Dalila

Dalila and Lee are an incredible couple, and were so much fun to work with. When a bride begins the initial consult by telling you that she sings in a band and will be performing at the wedding, as a photographer who enjoys unique weddings, it was a dream come true. Also making this wedding incredibly special was the melding of a new family. Lee’s beautiful children were welcoming Dalila as their stepmother into the family, into their lives and their special bond was beautiful to see. The love that this family shared was palpable, and it was an honor to be a small part of that day. The love and musical talent in this family created a high energy reception in which everyone was up dancing and laughing the entire evening through. Dalila played the role of both a bride and rockstar seamlessly. Wannammoiset Country Club provided  the perfect setting for guests to dance the night away to the music stylings of the ‘Unregulars’.

A Westerly Family Session

It was such an honor to photograph such a talented fellow RI female photographer Susan Sancomb. Susan and I had spent several months discussing a trade for each other but I had actually never met her in person until the night of the session. We met at the beautiful Ocean House in Westerly where Susan and her family were gathering for pre-session cocktails on the deck. It was a beautiful evening and I had so much fun getting to know her incredibly warm and sweet family.

We took our time meandering the grounds at the Ocean House and then headed over to one of Susan’s favorite spots down the road to catch a miraculous sunset, and we made it just in time.

Thank you Susan and your beautiful family for sharing such a special evening with me. It was truly one of my favorite sessions to date.

Justin and Paige ( the proposal)

I’ll never forget when I first read Justin’s email telling me of his plans to propose to his girlfriend Paige, and asking if I could photograph it.  I was blown away by the romance and the details he had put into this plan. The setting, the cliff walk in Newport, overlooking the ocean. However not in any ‘regular’ spot like 40 steps, no that wouldn’t do. He chose a spot that I had actually never been to and it turned out to be perfection.

I met with Justin a few weeks prior to go over the location and the plan. Where I would be, where he would be and of course where  Paige would be. Then the day came, except it rained so we had to reschedule for the following week. The anticipation was killing me, never mind what he was feeling. So the following week the weather looked good and the plan was a go. I arrived as some of their friends were setting everything up after carrying everything a good half mile to THE spot. Then I waited. In the bushes as hidden as I could be until the two came walking through the tunnel under the Chinese Teahouse. As soon as  they appeared Justin got down on one knee and popped the question. Paige was beyond surprised and her reaction was amazing and priceless. There was even a crowd that had gathered above waiting to see. She said “yes”  the champagne was popped and the two dined at a romantic table for two. I took a few more photos and then I was off. It was an honor to share and capture that moment forever. Justin and Paige I wish you both a lifetime of happiness as you embark on this next chapter together.

Beautiful Baby Riley ( 3 months)

I was thrilled to finally meet Riley and we had a fantastic session. Riley has so many outfits it was hard to chose just  a few. Good thing we have planned on a few more sessions this year because she has lots of outfits she would like to show off.

Second Shooting with Michael David Spirito Photography

What better way to kick off my blog then with a post documenting one of my second shooting experiences with Michael David Spirito in Newport RI. Second shooting is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do in photography, second to being the main shooter that is. The difference with second shooting is that there is a sense of less pressure to get everything just perfect and more room to relax and try new things. This often results in tons of learning and new experiences. Of course its always nerve racking to hand off your card at the end of the day and relinquish control but its also part of the fun. I had the wonderful opportunity to second shoot with Michael David Spirito Photography as we documented the fabulous wedding of Keith and Marcia. They had a totally unique and wonderful ceremony at the historic Jane Pickens Theatre in downtown Newport. Friends and family arrived and mingled in the theatre lobby, enjoying an array of old time snacks and beverages. After the ceremony the party  began at the beautiful Newport Yachting Center just in time to take in the beautiful sunset over the water. The entire day was simply perfect and I had such a wonderful time working with Michael. Here are some of the images I captured from this spectacular day.
